My name is Lara Carrión Borgoñós (Murcia, 1992) and I am a freelance translator who works with English and Portuguese texts, translating and localising them into Spanish. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada, as well as a Master’s Degree in Editorial Translation from the University of Murcia. During my time at university, I was granted two international mobility scholarships that allowed me to live and study in Portugal and Australia.

I am passionate about translation and words (spoken, written or dreamed), as well as teaching foreign languages and illustrating. Soon after finishing my Master’s Degree and receiving a Research Scholarship at the University of Murcia, I decided to not pursue a PhD (for now) to focus in one single thing: translating more and translating well.

Nowadays I combine my work as a freelance translator with my participation in the EU co-founded Project CELA (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists) where I translate short stories from Portuguese to Spanish. I also juggle this with volunteering at The Rosetta Foundation and studying to become a Spanish teacher, a field that I have always found fascinating.

In my free time, I write (prose and poetry), illustrate and design layouts. All the illustrations you will find on this website were designed by me. You can follow my progress as an artist via my Instagram or my Domestika profile.

If you want to know more about me, feel free to visit my About page or my LinkedIn profile.

Now it is your turn! How may I help you?
